The Roane County Schools Education Foundation is excited to announce the Roane County Schools Teachers
and Principal of the Year!
We join the Roane County Schools in honoring our many excellent educators at the Teachers & Principal of the Year Banquet on Friday, March 7, at The Victoria-The Gathering Place in Harriman.
Announced were the Teachers of the Year for each of the Roane County Schools, a district Teacher of the Year for the Elementary, Middle, and High School levels, and the school district’s Principal of the Year. In addition to the public recognition, the awardees received award certificates and gift cards. The selected educators are:
Elementary School
– Sarah Harris – Dyllis Springs ES and Roane County Schools Elementary School Teacher of the Year
– Samantha Saunders – Midtown ES
– Cassidy Tilley – Ridge View ES
– Alisa Fesmire – Bowers ES
– Brittany Ruffner – Midway ES
– Brooke Jenkins – Kingston ES
Middle School
– Faye McDonald – Oliver Springs MS and Roane County Schools Middle School Teacher of the Year
– Sharon Parks – Midway MS
– James Harrison – Rockwood MS
– Rhonda Smith – Harriman MS
– Richard Carter – Cherokee MS
High School
– Connie Guinn, Roane County HS and Roane County Schools High School Teacher of the Year
– Chastity Qualkenbush – Midway HS
– Tammy Rogers – Harriman HS
– Bobbie Clements – Rockwood HS
Roane County Schools Principal of the Year
– Leslie Smith, Harriman Middle School
This event allowed the Roane County Schools Education Foundation to thank those making a daily difference in our children’s and communities’ lives and raise funds for school grants to give back to our educators.
